Welcome to my Writer’s Domain!
This is no secret labyrinthine, underground lair where accursed writers roam the clammy tunnels, frightening wandering clients against the backdrop of flickering torches and the distant moans of tortured souls.

Nope. Instead, it’s just my website. But it doesn’t have to be boring to serve a purpose.
And this is my first blog post. Well, it isn’t really. I have had a blog for many years but rarely update it these days.
It’s here if you want to have a look – https://madmaniacalmusings.blogspot.com/
Warning: The blog does include naughty words. It isn’t part of my professional work. I just do it to feed the muse within me or if I have been nagged to write about something.
What’s The Point?
So, what is the point of this website? Well, partly it is for me to have some kind of reference point for shameless self-promotion. You see, I’ve worked for the same small group of clients for many, many years, aside from the odd side project or two.
However, things are changing, which has necessitated a need for me to broaden my horizons. Aside from updating my Upwork and Linkedin profiles, having a website seemed like a good idea.
I did use a template to make it initially (lazy barsteward), but I will, over time, personalise it a little more. But needs must when the devil farts on your omelette.
Other Exciting/Daft Projects?

I am also looking at doing some other exciting new things, like a podcast, live stream service or YouTube channel. Although which ones I actually get round to doing remains to be seen.
Some of my better ideas for these potential future ventures include:
- The Unexplained UK – Paranormal Podcast
- The Football Transfer Weekly – Weekly Stream on Latest Football Transfer News
- The Modern World For The 50+ – An exploration of modernism for those who are baffled by it all (including me).
- Ian Investigates – X – A Roger Cook-style mockumentary series where I ‘investigate’ a matter (X) of national or global importance (such as “Where do those single socks go to die and who is responsible?” and report back on the findings, how often I was beaten up and whose fault it is.
- Angry Letters – Fed up of something? So am I! So, I’m going to send off a very angry letter about it to those responsible and then report on any following correspondence either way.
- Mono Logs – A one-man diatribe against something, someone or a combination of things which annoy the eyebrows off me (such as malfunctioning gas cookers).
- Teaching Tech To The Mother-in-Law—This is a weekly real-life update about the latest adventures and mishaps in the world of technology experienced by my mother-in-law, who still feels a digital watch is far too complicated for anyone to understand.
So, you can imagine how awful some of the bad ideas that didn’t make that list were. However, I still feel “Unusual Uses For Cheese” has some legs.
Anyway, this blog will likely be a mix of the useful, useless, unexplained, unedited, unexpurgated and downright unlikely.
And most likely unread too.
But if you are there, stay tuned for more, as and when I actually remember to post stuff.
